Platinum Dunes Now Has Robots, Zombies, Turtles, Monsters And Jason, Oh My
Platinum Dunes looks to be very busy over the next couple of years as they now have much more than Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger to deal with. Last year it was announced that the pruduction company would be developing a remake of the Monster Squad as well as a reintroduction of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This news was on top of sequel speculation for the Friday the 13th film series.
Even after Brad Fuller announced on Twitter last month that Platinum Dunes was still ready to go with the proposed Friday the 13th sequel when Warner Bros. gave the green light to the project, the company seems to be attached to an increasing amount of films. Today, http://www.deadline.com/ is announcing that PD will be co-producing a new feature film titled Inherit The Earth, a film based in the IDW comic realm in which robots protect the last human on Earth from a horde of zombies in hopes of cloning her to save the human race..
The timing for this type of film seems right as in the last year or so aliens have been all the rage along with zombies. That being said, it is looking increasingly unlikely that PD would even have time in their schedule to aid in the creation of a new Friday the 13th film.

I don't know why these guys keep getting movies thrown at them? It must be on Michael Bay's name alone. Unreal!
ReplyDeleteThis company sucks major balls and Michael Bay ruins everything he touches. What a douche.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I like the movies that Bay directs. Transformers is a fun popcorn franchise with great visuals and special effects. I like PD's Texas Chainsaw films and the 2009 Friday the 13th reboot was fine by me it wasn't the end all be all Friday movie, but did alright.
