Paramount's Hanzel And Gretel Now Deal With Jason Voorhees!
Hansel and Gretel have already had to endure numerous traumatic experiences in their young lives. First they had to deal with being left to die in the woods by their father and evil stepmother. Then they were almost served up as the main course by the more evil witch in the woods. Now, they have Jason to deal with!
Bloody Disgusting just reported that Jason actor Derek Mears (Friday the 13th 2009) has signed onto Paramount Picture's Hanzel and Gretel. It is not yet known if Derek will join Hanzel and Gretel in their new adventures or if he will be a target of the pair? This new twist on the classic tale is being directed by Tommy Wirkola, who also directed the zombie Nazi film Dead Snow! Read below for a short synopsis of the film which is aiming for a 3D release soon.
The original take on the classic fairytale is set 15 years after the siblings killed the witch who kidnapped them. Hansel and Gretel have now evolved into bounty hunters who pursue witches.

Derek is incredible.. one of the only good things about that horrible F13 remake. He was also great as the 'classic' Predator in 'Predators' (the tied up one who joins the good guys at the end.) Anyway.. I'll give anything he is in a shot.
ReplyDeleteShuld be interesting to see this as a new movie and Derek is very cool and I hope he plays a vicious beast or Warlock!
ReplyDeleteI guess this means no jason for awhile longer...
