The Obsession Gets Specific About Jason Voorhees
There hasn't been a lot of news to report on the new Friday the web series, Friday the 13th: The Obsession. There has been some subtle pieces of info relating to the hockey masks being created (Pic 1, Pic 2). However, Timberwolf recently let the fans in on what to expect for Jason Voorhees in the series!
Posted in our forum for the series, Timberwolf's Tim Whitfield laid out what he envisions the many incarnations of Jason Voorhees to look like. Fans can expect to see Jason From Friday the 13th Part 2 as well as a mix of the different versions of Jason throughout the series. Fans do not have to worry about Jason's screen time either. He will be making an appearance in every episode of the series. Read below for more detailed explanations!
"Since he is the 'imagination' of the star "Amy" she will see him as any of us may see him.. a mix of the years growing up with him.
There will be a part 2 in at least one scene... and that will probably be the only time he is 'one' full look. Most of the other time he will be mixes. he will have 2 VERY diff looks (living/undead) then mixes of those two versions.
I will be playing Jason again (I did in Cold Heart and The Storm) and Jason will be featured in 2 major sequences (Beginning and end)Think Jason Goes to Hell in that respect of full sequences, but much more screentime. Though JGTH gets shit for not having enough Jason, he is on screen for over 5min, which is more than 2 and 4 (and 1 and 5 of coarse).. and about even with 3 (I timed it back then...lol)Even 6,7 and 8 are only 15 to 20min of actual on screen Jason. Jason X has like 25 though. I never timed FvsJ. But JGTH does not have him stalking or watching "as Jason" like the other sequels so it makes you feel he is not that. Obsession will avoid that, with him with Amy quite a bit watching her... in her head.
Anyway, Jason will have more than 10min of screentime so it will top 1,2,3,4,5 of the real series screentime. he will also be in EVERY episode at least once.
The best way to describe the feeling would be Part 5 , with two Jason Goes To Hell sequences on the beginning and end :)
But I think the one thing we will to in this is make a cast / characters you will really enjoy watching as well, so even when Jason is not there, you will be into it."

I will be honest and say that I am still unsure about this whole project. I am sure it will be made very well, however, an obsessed fan becomes Jason? I don't know? I will still give it a chance, though.
ReplyDeleteI just hope that we get that brutal Jason we all love. This is all sounding spectacular. Keep up the good work guys!
