New Friday The 13th Releases On Blu-Ray!

Before everyone gets their hopes up, this does not include all of the remaining Paramount films that have yet to be released on the Blu-Ray format, perhaps. However, one film in the Friday the 13th series has a definite release date while another film is at least listed as being released on Blu-Ray, but with no release date.

Friday the 13th 2009 is getting a re-release on August 16, 2011 in the high definition format, according to Blu-Ray.com, with the movie and other content on a single disc. At this time, there is no image for the cover of the disc but it is assumed that Warner Bros. will keep the same packaging as before. Would fans want something different? Also, no news if anything new will be added to the disc at this time.

The more intriguing listing on the same website is that of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. Yes, the film is listed as a future release, however, no date is given and no other details are specified. Could this be a simple error on the part of the website? Blu-ray.com is one of the top sources of news on the high definition format, so usually, when they list something, it is more than likely going to be released soon.
