Actor Spotlight: Terry Kiser (Dr. Crews, The New Blood)
Terry Kiser was born on August 1, 1939 in Omaha, Nebraska. Terry attended the University of Kansas with both a football and dramatic scholarship. He graduated in 1962 with a degree in Industrial Engineering and continued to work for three years in engineering in his hometown. The man known to Friday The 13th fans as Dr. Crews eventually moved to New York to pursue an acting career at The Acting Studio whereas he eventually made his film debut in the 1968 film Rachel, Rachel.
For television series, Terry has done them all, almost literally, with guest spots on "Diff'rent Strokes" (1978), "Will & Grace" (1998), "Caroline in the City" (1997), "Walker, Texas Ranger" (1993), "The Golden Girls" (1985), "L.A. Law" (1986), "Magnum, P.I." (1980), "Hunter" (1984), "Murder, She Wrote" (1984), "Hawaii Five-O" (1968), "Knight Rider" (1982), "The Fall Guy" (1981), "The Six Million Dollar Man" (1974), "CHiPs" (1977), "All in the Family" (1971), and "The Bionic Woman" (1976).
Most film-goers know Terry as Bernie Lomax in the fun comedy film series Weekend at Bernie's, but of course we all know him as the exploitative and evil Dr. Crews from Friday The 13th Part 7: The New Blood (1988). His other notable roles include another evil character, Count Gunther Spretzle, in Mannequin: On the Move (1991), Jesse Hardwick in the Horror anthology The Offspring (1987), the Chuck Norris film An Eye for an Eye (1981) and most recently the indie Horror film Mask Maker (2010).
Today, Terry Kiser resides in Ouray, Colorado with his wife and daughter.
