Film Props: Jason Voorhees Torso From Friday The 13th 2009
Friday The 13th 2009 brought a plethora of new props to be utilized in the film. In the collector's world, this was like Christmas as having the ability to purchase new items from the Friday the 13th universe was a dream come true. Today's featured prop was a highly sought after piece in the community, as it was created for the newest film in the franchise, but sadly was never used on film.
This torso was never used in the the 2009 film, but its intended purpose was to be used in a scene where Jason Voorhees would be stabbed in the chest. The film crew was never able to film the desired wide angle shot for the scene, so the entire concept was scrapped. The torso was constructed using foam latex then hand painted before being mounted on a polyfoam form.
It would have been interesting to see this piece used in the film and have Jason take on more damage from his would-be victims. It is still an awesome looking prop and would be a great addition to any fan's collection!
