Jason X / Jason Goes To Hell Double Feature Blu-Ray Coming This September
Many Friday The 13th fans are awaiting the release of Warner Bros. 12 film Friday The 13th Blu-Ray Box set scheduled for release on September 13th. One of the gripes, however, is that some people would rather buy certain films on Blu rather than having to invest in the entire franchise. It makes sense, as some of our readers like certain films in the franchise more than others. Most fans would want to buy Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter through Friday The 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan on the high definition format, but what about those that are big fans of Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X?
Our German readers will be happy to know, if they are not aware already, that a new double feature of the films is planned to be released on Blu-Ray on September 6th! The double disc was actually announced on certain German websites way back in January of 2013, but we were just made aware of it recently. So, what's on this release of the films? It looks to be standard fare ported over from previous DVD releases, but the big question for Jason Goes To Hell is the version of the film on disc.
According to D&T Mailorder, the disc with both films has an 18 Rating, which is the equivalent to an R Rating in the United States. Does this mean that Jason Goes To Hell is the theatrical cut and not the Director's Cut? It has been confirmed by a few German fans that the version of the film in the Double Feature disc is indeed the theatrical cut only. Does this mean the Blu-Ray of the film in the U.S. 12 film box set is the theatrical cut as well as we had mentioned in our full specs list post? We'll have to wait and see.
