Jason Lives Paintballer Triple Decapitation Storyboards Show Original Intended Deaths
Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part 6 boasts some of the more impressive kill scenes in the film franchise where as it helped bring back inventive and thrilling death sequences to the movies that helped kick-start the sub-genre. One of the more enjoyable, but heavily cut death scenes involved the goofy corporate paintballers that Jason Voorhees encounters in the forest of Crystal Lake, er, Forest Green. The scene shows Jason jump down from the trees for which he decapitates the weekend warriors. Not until the 2009 Deluxe Edition DVD did we finally get to see the unedited version of this scene which showed the beheaded trio's bodies topple over their severed heads on the ground.
There is a plethora of storyboards provided in the new Crystal Lake Memories eBook for which the original concept of the triple decapitation was drawn out to help aid in filming the scene. The storyboard set featured in the new eBook shows that the victims were not wearing army fatigues or camouflage and look to be normal vacationing campers. No doubt, the clothing was not important to the sketch, but as always it is fun to see what these scenes looked like in the minds of the creators before the were shot on camera.
