Witness Rare Yugoslavian Friday the 13th Posters

As part of our continuing efforts to showcase rare marketing materials for the film franchise, we will occasionally be dipping into items that are rare and unique that may not have been seen by all fans of the films. We want to make sure new visitors to the website have the opportunity to witness these items and enjoy them. Today we revisit some very rare Yugoslavian Friday the 13th posters!

As most people know, Yugoslavia is now a defunct country, no longer existing in name, which makes the following posters even more rare and unique. Below are six posters from the Friday the 13th film franchise and there are a few features to take notice of. Friday The 13th 1980 and Friday The 13th Part 7: The New Blood utilize the more common poster art seen around the world. However, the posters for Friday The 13th Part 2, Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter, Friday The 13th: A New Beginning and Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part 6 all use promotional or lobby card images for the poster.

It is interesting to see what some fans would call "Generic" posters utilized to promote these films in other countries. Those posters buck the trend and almost do not appear to be posters at all, especially the Jason Lives poster. Most fans could create that poster in a few moments using Photoshop.
