NECA Announces Nintendo 8-bit Mego Style Jason Voorhees!
All of our readers remember last year when NECA revealed they would be releasing a SDCC Exclusive figure of Jason Voorhees that would be painted as the classic Nintendo 8-bit figure from the 1988 video game. It was extremely limited and caused many fans to miss out on owning the legendary figure. 8-Bit Jason kicked off a very successful line of similarly themed figures of other classic Nintendo game figures for NECA and now the toy company has announced a Toys R Us exclusive Mego 8-bit Nintendo Jason Voorhees figure!
Randy Falk, NECA’s Director of Product Development, just revealed on Twitter that the company has shipped the new figure to Toys R Us stores. The figure looks very similar to the SDCC 2013 Classic Video Game Appearance Jason action figure. This new retro Mego-style figure features a real cloth outfit, glow in the dark features, and three deadly accessories – including an axe, machete, and speargun.
If you have a Twitter account, NECA asks that you post with #trujason and tell them where you found it. This will help collectors know when their local Toys R Us store has received their shipment. Good luck in finding the figure in stores!
