More Plot And Network Details Surface For Friday The 13th Show
The idea of a proper Friday The 13th television show has fans more intrigued than possibly a new film and as such we all anxiously await any news on the impending show. Although some rumors about what network would carry the show and start date were debunked recently, we now have some interesting news to report straight from the mouth of franchise creator Sean Cunningham.
Sean and other franchise alumni have been attending the Monster Mania convention this weekend in New Jersey and while talking during a Q&A during the event, he offered up some new information about the plot of the show and a possible network to air the show. Tim Jacob attended the event and tells us what Sean had to say:
"Sean Cunningham confirmed interest from the CW in regards to pickup for the tv show. According to him, the basic premise focuses on the REAL city of Crystal Lake, and the effect that the serialized films had on its real life counterpart. This allows them to reimagine Jason in a more grounded reality, as the films would be based off the real life killings that tool place at the Camp. (ie, both the Hockey Masked Jason and a more serious backwoods inspired killer will be making appearances throughout) "
Wow, if true, we could be looking at a totally new dynamic for the story of Jason and the franchise and a rebirth of the character for a completely different direction. Remember, that the CW has not picked up rights to air the show yet, Sean only mentions interest from the network. The plot of show is intriguing, so lets see how this plays out as the show moves towards production, hopefully sometime later this year.
