Friday The 13th Rights Battle: Deadline Given For Opposition Against Horror Inc.
We have a small update on the continuing legal battle for the rights for the Friday The 13th franchise. Yesterday, franchise alumni and copyright and entertainment attorney Larry Zerner posted on Twitter the next step in the court case. Victor Miller’s rebuttal to Sean Cunningham’s appeal is due within 90 days on 9/3/19.
Larry mentions the extended amount of time afforded to Victor to file his brief could signal possible negotiations to settle, but we shall see what happens next, if and when Victor files.
Short update on Horror Inc. v. Miller. Victor Miller's opposition brief filing due date is now 9/3/19. This is 90 days from the filing of Sean's brief which is a long(ish) time. Could possibly be because settlement talks continue but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
