Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan Screen Used Hockey Mask Up For Auction Soon

It gets to be extremely hard to own props from the productions of the Friday The 13th films, not only because of the condition of the items as the years pass by, but also due to the large cost associated with purchasing these items. That will not change next month as a production used hockey mask will be up for auction from Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan!

Prop Store is set to hold one of the world’s largest live auctions of film and TV memorabilia in Los Angeles, with over 1,900 rare and iconic lots to be sold during the four day event (August 15-18).

Bidding is expected to start at $12,000 for the hockey mask and is estimated to sell for between $25,000-$50,000! It’s safe to say this item is out of range for the average fan, but perhaps you can give the auction a try and see what happens?

From the auction page:

Manufactured by special effects supervisor Martin Becker, this acrylic mask originated from the collection of producer Randolph "Randy" Cheveldave, who took possession of it after Becker removed it from Hodder in his work trailer in New York's Times Square on the final day of principal photography. The mask is painted yellow with three red triangular emblems on the forehead and cheeks. It features three leather straps held together by a three-sided halter square brass buckle. This mask was intentionally distressed, which includes a grimy appearance and the ax crack in the forehead from Friday the 13th Part III. This mask exhibits discoloration and chipped paint, scuffing, and frayed fiber from the straps.
