Original Artist Proof For Friday The 13th Part 3 Home Video Cover On Auction

Our readers are always surprised to find lost treasures related to the marketing of the Friday The franchise. We always enjoy digging up items that helped shape the promotion of the franchise as certain imagery has stuck in the minds of the fans for several decades. A number of years ago, our site wrote about the original artist painting for the U.S. home video cover release of Friday The 13th: A New Beginning and a lot of people were surprised it was a painting and not a real mask used. Today we have another awesome discovery as the original artist painting for the Friday The 13th Part 3 home video cover is up for auction!

On November 16th, this beautiful piece of art is up for bidding for a lucky fan to obtain. The PropStore auction is taking place in person in London, but online bids can be placed as well.

About the artwork:

Rendered on a large piece of card by an airbrush, the artwork depicts the same iconic design used for the film's poster: Jason Voorhees (Richard Brooker) stabbing through a shower curtain with a blood-dripping knife. Paramount then used this artwork as the cover art for their VHS release of the film.

Two overlays, one acetate and the other paper, protect the artwork. The overlays can be removed. Dimensions: 76.5 cm x 51 cm (30" x 20")

This is another great find for fans that appreciate the history of the films in the Friday The 13th franchise and will be a great addition to a lucky fan who wins the bid. Good luck to those who bid!
