Linda Cardellini Officially Signs On To Portray Mrs. Voorhees In 'Crystal Lake'

 Last month, Jeff Schneider broke the news that Linda Cardellini (Scooby Doo, Mad Men, Dead To Me) was in talks to play the tragic and villainous Mrs. Voorhees, and today Deadline has confirmed that she has indeed signed on to portray Pamela in A24's Crystal Lake streaming series for Peacock.

Although the plot of the series is not fully known as of yet, Deadline offered the following:

Cardellini’s Pamela is believed to be a mother who had given up a singing career to raise a special needs child and takes a dark turn when she loses her son.

The new Friday The 13th series is run by Brad Caleb Kane and produced by Horror Inc., Marc Toberoff and Victor Miller. Early word we heard late last year was that filming is set to begin this summer and now that Linda has been officially cast, that timeline looks to be accurate.
