Mego Corp Unveils Jason Voorhees Figure At New York Toy Fair

 The New York Toy Fair took place a few weekends ago and it used to be a celebratory annual event for Friday The 13th fans as numerous reveals would be made of various Jason Voorhees and franchise related toys and collectibles. As our readers are well aware, a long-standing rights litigation has ceased almost all licensing of Friday The 13th merchandise. As such, for the past several years, not much has been made available for fans to purchase in an official capacity. That seems to have changed ever so slightly as Mego Corp just revealed a new Jason Voorhees figure!

The new figure should be part of the Mego's new wave nine offering this year, so fans have that to look forward to in the near future. Looking at the photo from the Toy Fair below, the likeness of Jason is not specific to any of the Friday The 13th films but looks like it incorporates a few items of Jason's costume used throughout the franchise.

The packaging offers an interesting choice of imagery as both the promotional hockey mask from Friday The 13th 2009 is displayed as well as Jason from Friday The 13th Part VI. Look for the figure to be for sale soon at megofigures.com and other outlets.
